Personal Radar Lt. - WiFi Direct App for Nearby People Detection
Personal Radar Lt. is a free Android application developed by GIMIN Studio that notifies the user when other nearby devices with the same app are within WiFi radio range, which can be up to 300m outside a building. The app uses WiFi Direct mode, enabling device-to-device communication without the need for a WiFi hotspot or network connection. This app is useful in various scenarios, such as finding a parked car, waiting for someone, or monitoring the proximity of children, luggage, or vehicles.
This app does not create any connections between devices or WiFi hotspots and has an animated widget on the device screen. It also features a configurable alert sound and a 'radar running' sound. The app alerts the user when a second device appears in WiFi range and when it disappears, making it ideal for use as a baby monitor or luggage monitor. Additionally, a configurable list of people/devices can be set up for alerting. The app keeps working even if the device screen is locked, and other people can only see the user's device if their app is running. Personal Radar Lt. is designed for phone and tablet screens.
